Help Cover Regina Czarnecki’s Funeral Costs

Donation protected
Two days ago, on June 10th, 2020, one of my best friends, Regina Czarnecki, tragically passed away overnight. It was so sudden, in fact, that neither family nor friends were expecting it, and there were zero preparations for this event in place.

Although many who knew them may not have known this, the Czarnecki family was never financially stable. Gina would often experience the painful heat or extreme cold waiting in line for the food pantry each week. They also expressed the struggles of not having working general appliances nor clean water in their home—living conditions most of us take for granted. This Gofundme is to help Gina’s grieving family be able to put their beloved family member to rest.

What sort of person was Gina? You know, when you’re a stranger and you read these sorts of things, you don’t realize who they really were. So I can tell you who Gina really was: an absolute legend. As a close friend of Gina, let me explain.

Gina was definitely the funniest person of our friend group. No one could make the rest of us laugh as hard as Gina could. They were “the pungeon master” – a master of puns. Always came up with the funniest stuff. Could always make us smile. All of Gina’s hometown friends have a joke that Gina somehow knew everything… any little piece of trivia, fun fact, as well as some serious knowledge about adulting. Gina was just that intelligent, prosperous and wise— someone who would ALWAYS research things for other people in order to to aid or entertain them.

Gina was kind to be kind. And it was completely natural; it was just who they were. They would offer people, even if they were strangers, assistance with projects and schoolwork without asking for anything in return. Just to be helpful. Gina was a reliable support towards all. They made others feel at home. Gina included shy people into the conversation to help them be comfortable in a group. You know what? Even though I knew Gina for 11 years of our lives, Gina still made an effort to make me comfortable. Gina was just that sort of person.

Gina was someone who was able to let go of the past and move forward. Gina experienced a lot of bullying in their life, and STILL did not hold resentful grudges towards others’ wrongdoings. Do you know anyone like that? Probably not. Everyone holds negative things. But Gina? I don’t know how, but Gina was just so gentle. Gina believed heavily and strongly for equal rights for every person on this God given earth and would actively advocate for social reform on their social media. They truly cared for the safety and wellbeing of strangers just as much as their own loved ones, no matter their background. Gina wanted to make the world a more positive place.

Gina was selfless. They would go out of their way to make sure you were emotionally and physically comfortable. Gina wasn’t selfish with money or food or any material objects despite not owning much. They always sent me silly things online, and sometimes just bought me random nice gifts. And they did this with all of their friends. You know? Someone who just loved you, for you. You were just you, and Gina accepted you with all your flaws. Loving, kind, generous, compassionate. For no reason, just to love.

The more I think about what to write about this person, the more I wonder how to get across who they really were, what they really meant to their community. They were a loving person who loved the children they worked with in the after school program. They loved all their friends, and literally would do things for people just to make them happy – even if they weren’t on particularly good terms with that person!

We ask for your donations to help celebrate this truly kind person’s life and to help them rest in peace. The money will be used in multiple places, mostly for the funeral and the related expenses, but also to help the family afford food, medication, and other necessities. It’s a lengthy and painful process for their friends and family at this time that can be eased by your contributions.

Gina would appreciate all the attention and love, for sure. Thank you for reading and donating if you can. It means the world to Gina’s friends and family, who want nothing more than to make the burden of this tragedy a little lighter.

This GoFundMe request is to support the funeral costs of said tragedy. I am a close friend of Gina and their family and have observed that help from their community is what they need right now, writing in lieu of Gina’s mother, whom all donations will be handled by.
