Revised Funding Goal

Now we understand better what the demand is for these shields it is clear that it is way beyond printing them for the local front line works and high risk neighbours. Our hospitals, care homes, medical facilities, etc are all in desperate need for them. So far we have had orders for 770 shields and that is only because we have limited any one request to a maximum of 50 units. There are 14 of them so far and when you include them we really need to be making 2000 shields!!

We've also got a good hold now on how much they cost to make which is £2.65 per shield and therfore we are revising our goal to £5300! That will give us enough shields to supply the local demand plus the areas care homes, the front line business,es, the medical clinics and supply at least 100 each to 5 of the biggest hospitals across Central Scotland. There are 3 other groups we are aware of so between us we should be able to supply the hospitals eventually.

Ok so it looks like there is much more demand for this than we had first thought so starting this page..

We are printing and making face shields for the front line, key workers and those needing extra protection. We'll do as much as we can for free but it would help to have some support with buying the materials which are plastic filament, plastic sheeting, elasticated band, bags for supplying, etc. If we get enough funds then we could also add another printer and double our production rate.

Anything left over (both cash and goods) will be donated to the local charities and clubs once we have seen the back of COVID-19.

If you can donate any of the materials that would be great too. We need.

* A4 Clear Binding Covers (200+ microns thickness)
* 1.75mm PET-G 3D Printer Filament
* 12mm Woven Elasticated Band (like used in sewing)
* Large clear zip bags, needs to be able to hold an A4 sheet of paper

Thanks for any help you can provide. We can arrange pick up of any donation of materials during one of our feed delivery runs too so no need to leave the house for it.
