A message from Scott's wife, Mindy;
"My husband is coming home from the hospital for the last time today. I am grateful that he can at least be at home to have hospice care. With a very heavy heart I know that he is tired of his battle with heart disease and many other health issues in his lifetime. The most recent was a stroke and had two aneurysms removed that have affected his mind and his memory. The doctors say there is nothing else they can do for him. His organs are now failing and he just doesn't have anymore strength to fight. This has been traumatic for both of us and his family and friends because nobody was allowed to be there with him so he had to go through this alone. The Coronavirus restrictions prevented us from being there next to him to provide any support for him and he needed it. He has been a great husband and best friend to me. Our love is eternal and I will miss him deeply. I love you always."

Thank you for visiting Scott Lindgren's Memorial Assistance Fund Page.  My name is Ryan Parker.  I reside in Rosemount, Minnesota.  I have created this effort in hope of helping my dear friends Scott and Mindy Lindgren of Amery Wisconsin.   A brief history of Scott's story for those who don't already know.

Scott was born with a congenital heart defect that caused him to suffer congestive heart failure in his late 20's, for which he received a Pacemaker defibrillator implant.  For the next decade Scott lived a relatively normal life until his heart began to fail beyond what a Pacemaker is designed to remedy.  In 2012, Scott nearly died and as a result had an LVAP installed.  A small electric mechanical pump implanted in his chest to assist his heart in pumping blood throughout his body, but this was not a permanent solution.  Scott needed a transplant.  The requirements to get on to the active waiting list for a heart are considerable and require that a patient meet specific health requirements and despite their best efforts, his health has not cooperated.  He had to have his spleen removed. He has also been fighting an infection of his blood for a couple years which caused problems with his balance and eyesight.   He was finally offered a heart a few months ago but once at the hospital, his doctors found his protein levels to be too low to receive that heart.   After another battery of tests they determined his kidneys were now having trouble and his protein levels were not improving.  Most recently Scott suffered a significant stroke and needed brain surgery.   Unfortunately, having that brain surgery not only disqualified Scott from ever receiving a heart, but clots had now formed and have begun to get stuck inside his LVAP pump.  A problem that cardiac specialists have little ability to affect now because Scott is no longer a good candidate for a heart transplant.  Because of the Coronavirus and the strict rules by which the hospital had to adhere, this entire time Scott has been alone in the hospital, without the love and support of his wife Mindy or family or friends.  So it has been decided that Scott will return to his home in Amery, Wisconsin to spend his last hours with those who love him.

Scott is an amazing human being who looks out for and cares about those around him no matter who they are.  He has been an inspiration to me personally and to many other people who have known him at some point over his 49 years.  He will be missed always but never forgotten! Please keep Scott, Mindy, Joel (Scott's brother) and Holly (Scott's sister) in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you profoundly for taking the time to read this and for any donation you may be able to give to help Mindy to have one less significant hurdle to worry about as she says goodbye to her love.
