Warm Blankets for Fillmore's Kids (Legal Aid org.)

It was cold and raining and windy in 2006 while helping at the Christmas toy give-a-way, we were saddened how few of the children had coats on in the freezing cold. It was not that they had forgotten their coat- it was that they did not have a one. Santa Clara Valley Legal Aid with the support of the Fillmore Volunteer Fire Fighter Foundation; Ventura County Sheriff’s Department; and the City of Fillmore and many other have given away brand-new coats to local children since 2006.
This year we are unable to give away coats because of social distancing requirements. But in keeping with the spirit of WARMTH, we are giving away brand new warm BLANKETS to each child who comes through the line this year. The giveaway will be Saturday, December 12th.
Please help Santa Clara Valley Legal Aid buy brand new fluffy blankets for Fillmore's children. When you write a check for blankets, your dollars stay right here in our little Fillmore community. Please be generous and support our local efforts. If you write a check directly to the Fillmore Volunteer Firefighters Foundation, POB 331, Fillmore, CA 93016 and designate blankets in the memo line, you can take the charitable deduction. Please click to give and know that every single dollar we receive buys a blanket. There are no administrative costs or fees. We are looking to give away 750 new blankets this year.
